As a valued member of the staff team, Mashmooma worked within SRCDC for over 20 years. During this period she headed up a wide range of projects and activities that engaged the communities of South Riverside, Grangetown, Canton and Butetown. A key passion and drive for Mashmooma was supporting individuals and communities to engage in learning, education and digital inclusion to enable self-improvement, increased aspirations and the development of self-advocacy.

Mashmooma worked tirelessly both in her professional and personal capacity to break down cultural barriers, increase opportunities for women from ethnic minority backgrounds and raise awareness of their needs at local and national levels. In addition to this she participated in a series of research and policy based activities in Cardiff/Wales to help improve people’s lives.

Mashmooma will be hugely missed by us all at SRCDC and the many families, groups and communities that she supported and worked with. She carried herself in a very open, gentle and caring manner leaving a lasting impact in the lives of those whom she touched.

May her life that was lived in service to her family and wider community be an inspiration and motivation for the generations to come as part of an ongoing legacy in her memory.

In tribute and loving memory of Mashmooma Din.
